Sean Currey - Closet Comic...
UPDATE OPEN MIC INFO:
I will be appearing the Improv in Homestead on September 28th and October 26 (8:00pm).
I will also be at the FunnyBone in Station Square on October 4th and the 18th (7:30pm)
It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you that our Black Lab, Lady, was put to sleep today. She had recently become very ill and the prognosis for her recovery was almost zero percent. I got to be with her in her final moments. She was a good dog and will be missed by all that knew her.
The Lady Daphne
Thank you the time we spent, it all went by so fast.
All good things come to an end, but I wish this one would last.
I'm sorry if I yelled too much, or ever treated you bad.
Just thinking about those times right now, really makes me sad.
No one can ever take your place, those shoes are hard to fill.
I wish you could have stayed a while, I thought we had a deal.
It was my job to feed and care for you, your job to guard and bark,
at anyone that came nearby, or strange sounds in the dark.
You cared for us, you watched over us, I debt I cant repay.
In the end all I could do for you, is watch you slip away.
I stroked your head tenderly, as the life drained from your eyes.
And in those final moments, we said our last goodbyes.
As life left your body, my eyes they filled with tears,
thinking about the times we had all throughout the years
We all have cried alot since then, me more so than the rest.
Of all the dogs I've ever had, Lady you were the best.
I know you are in a better place, I know you are not in pain.
I know that you will be waiting for us and we will meet again.
I can't wait to pat your head again, and see you run and play.
From now until then all of us will miss you every day.
Here is a URL where she can be seen.

Took the wife and kids to watch me make a fool out of myself on Saturday. As it turns out, my brother Eddie and Troy were able to come down. It was a great surprise. We had dinner and then I went and did my thing. It was fun and I thought it went well. Next stop, back to the Improv.
The added benefit to Saturday was I met a commic named Ty Mac. Ty grabbed me after my set (*grabbed*, not groped). Anywho, he asked for my card and gave me his info and told me to call him. He might need me for a show. This is great because I hear that is how things happen in stand up....you either get noticed by those further along than you or you blow the club owner. Let's hope its the former and NOT the latter.
Related thought: I noticed that Ty was selling his CD's at the show which all comedians do. Not that I have enough material or audience to sell a single CD but *IF* I did, I would call it the same as this blog "Sean Currey - Closet Comedian".
Time for bed...my real job awaits me at 7am. Peace out.
The most important thing I have to say today is that it is MY ANNIVERSARY. Amy has now put up with my sorry
asiago cheese bagel for 14 years of marriage. Tomorrow will be our 16 year anniversary as a couple. This means that I have spent exactly half of my life with her. Ah, love is grand! 143 babe!
Sorry for the lag between posts but life has been busy. I have now done the FunnyBone 3 times and the Improv once.
In fact, after last night's set another comic (B. Billy Braddock) came up to me and offered me a spot in a Saturday night lineup. It's basically just another open mic but I would love to get the set in.
